What is Twitter?
Some people are Twitters, others are just plain twits! Do you know about Twitter already? If not then have a read of our Twitter lo-down and make up your mind if it's a great thing or just a...thing. Mr Tiddles is undecided on it as anything that twitters near him usually ends up in a cloud of feathers!
It's a free service that has been around since 2006. Anyone can create a Twitter profile in order to send messages (known as Tweets) which is done via SMS.
There are a number of high profile celebs such as Stephen Fry, Ashton Kutcher and Britney Spears who do this now, letting fans knowing exactly what they are up to in real time. These messages can be public (open to be viewed by anyone) or restricted to certain people. Most Twitter feeds are public however and anyone can then sign up to be receive these messages (Ashton Kutcher has over a million people signed up!). These people are known as 'followers'.
People can follow the people they sign up for in a number of ways. One way is via the web. This is where Bingocat comes in! Mr Tiddles has selected all the available Bingo Twitters he could sniff out.
